With the unique design of the race course, the Chisholm Trail Marathon will have Pace groups for the full marathon.
Half Marathoners will stick with the pace group of the full that corresponds to their desired half time. For example, if you desire to run a 2hr half marathon, you would stick with the 4hr marathon pace group.
We will have a pace group Meet and Greet at the GetFit Wichita Expo, so you can get to know your pacer.
The Chisholm Trail Marathon and Half Marathon are designed to showcase downtown Wichita and to provide a USATF and RRCA certified championship style course for runners. With its long straight stretches and minimal turns, this course is sure to become one of the fastest qualifiers in the US. Come to Wichita and enjoy the Air Capital, there's a lot more to Wichita than you think!
The start and finish of the full and half marathon is located in the historic Delano District, just West of downtown Wichita.
The Half Marathon has its own finish line on the Douglas Street Bridge just West of Waco Avenue.
Mile markers will be posted at each mile.
The Chisholm Trail Marathon is USATF and RRCA certified making it a Boston and New York Marathon Qualifier.
All runners must cross timing mats placed on the race course. Failure to do so could result in disqualification.
Everyone on the race course must have an official race number. No exceptions.
In some areas, only one side of the road is closed to vehicular traffic. As such, it is imperative that you stay within the cones that mark the course. Any deviations from the marked course can result in a disqualification and serious injury.
Assistance received from anyone other than a Chisholm Trail Marathon official may result in disqualification from the race.
The Chisholm Trail Marathon will have race photographer's on the course at several locations and the finish line. Race photos will be available for free download as well as custom prints for purchase from our race photographer.
We will be streaming videos throughout the buildup to the race via our social media outlets and live streams on race day. Check out our FaceBook, The Wichita Chisholm Trail Marathon, for updates.
The race begins at 7:30, and spectators are encouraged to cheer on the participants. View the course map for recommended spectating areas, and keep an eye on our road closures page.
We hope you enjoy your time away from the course as well. Downtown Wichita and Visit Wichita are two great sources for experiencing Wichita's many offerings.
